IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME

If you are like me, it seems like Christmas has come quickly! First of all, I want to take this quick moment to wish each of you a very ‘Merry Christmas.’ Honestly, I know you have heard it said, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year;” and to me it is as we take time to remember our Lord’s birth. However, it can also be a very sad time for many as they remember their loved ones who have passed or reflect on things that have caused sadness and hardships they have faced. Perhaps there are those who cannot buy gifts and you may even feel inadequate, I want to encourage you that the reason we celebrate is because of the One who can bring the sincerest encouragement and who has the greatest understanding of how we feel. He is the Prince of Peace and brings the comfort we need on a daily basis. Let’s take a moment together to discuss, “It’s Christmas Time.”

We have now been in this pandemic for almost 2 years. It is my prayer this Christmas to remember all that are hurting and ask God to be with each one in a special way. To bring comfort to every heart and to remind each of us we are not alone in all that has taken place this year. May we each take in God’s love and receive the greatest gift of love this Christmas. For so many, lives have been impacted in a variety of ways. As we prepare to celebrate another Christmas together, let’s remain sensitive to each other. Let’s enjoy these moments and cherish the time we have been given with the ones we love. As much as we may want to give gifts, let’s appreciate the intention more than what you receive. As you give to others, prepare your heart to remember that you are doing so genuinely whether the person appreciates it or not. Perhaps you should not give just to give. Maybe you should consider why you are giving in the first place. You can never put a value on love and time you have with the ones you love. Give without looking for something in return. Keep in mind, maybe the person could not afford a gift to give you this year.

Appreciate those who are creative in their gifts as well and do not dismiss the thoughtfulness. I can remember one year when someone gave me a jar filled with all the ingredients to a specific cookie recipe. I so appreciated this thoughtfulness honestly. There have been times where I have had to be so creative in my gifts with the thought of what this person would like and appreciate. Sometimes, we think we need to give just to give and not even consider what the person would like. One year, there was someone who I honestly believe re-gifted me something they did not want and I have to be honest, it was not anything I could use either. Don’t just re-gift someone something you do not want. Perhaps you could resale online and get money for it.

Most importantly, let’s celebrate together the reason for the season- Jesus birth. With so many going through a variety of things, it is important to pause and take in the time we have been given. Time is a genuine gift and we need to cherish each moment we have with those we love.

Enjoy your Christmas! Share your thoughts on your creativity in gifts and moments you cherish with your loved ones during Christmas Time. Let’s continue to take moments together. “Merry Christmas!” You may like these dairy free and gluten free fudge cookies this Christmas
