SARAH’S OIL MOVIE REVIEW – AN EMOTIONAL TRUE STORY

Feature Image

I recently watched the film ‘Sarah’s Oil’ and really enjoyed it. This true story reveals that after a young Sarah Rector, an African American girl who was born in Oklahoma Indian Territory in the early 1900s believes there is oil beneath the barren land she’s designated to have. What touched me about this film was her incredible faith and how it was proven right even when others doubted. Unfortunately, she deals with greedy prejudiced sharks who want the land for themselves. Sarah remains in faith and looks to her family, friends, and some Texas wildcatters to maintain control of her oil-rich land, eventually becoming among the nation’s first female African American millionaires–at eleven years old.

This was my brief summary of this film and I would definitely recommend it. I would love to hear your thoughts when you have the opportunity to see it too. It’s important that we support inspiring true stories. It is available in theatres for a limited time.
