One of my recent experiences in Central Florida was a delightful visit to the Morse Museum, and I would love to share it with you. If you are planning a trip to the Orlando area, I highly recommend adding this remarkable museum to your itinerary. There is so much beauty and history to discover within its galleries.
Founded in 1942 by Jeannette Genius McKean and dedicated to her grandfather, industrialist Charles Hosmer Morse of Chicago, the museum was originally located on the campus of Rollins College. It later moved to its current home in Winter Park, where more than 19,000 square feet of exhibition space showcase an extraordinary collection of American art.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the museum’s renowned Tiffany Collection. The collection features award-winning leaded-glass windows, paintings, pottery, jewelry, mosaics, watercolors, lamps, furniture, enamels, and exquisite examples of Favrile blown glass.

I was especially captivated by the reconstructed Tiffany Chapel, originally created for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Its radiant stained-glass windows, intricate mosaics, and magnificent Byzantine-Romanesque architectural details create an unforgettable experience and offer a glimpse into the artistry and vision of Louis Comfort Tiffany.
If you find yourself in Central Florida, be sure to include the Morse Museum on your list of places to visit. After exploring the museum, take time to stroll through charming Winter Park and enjoy its inviting shops and restaurants. It is an experience you will be glad you had.
