It may seem as though we only focus on our hearts when we feel the need to, but in reality, we should be doing so regularly. Our hearts are constantly speaking to us—not just our physical hearts but also our emotional hearts. Let’s take a moment to discuss the Matters of the Heart.
I want to focus on this topic today because it is more important than we often admit. Let me ask you, How is your heart today? Could you answer honestly? Would you hold back how you truly feel? It is incredible how our emotional well-being can impact our physical health. So, let’s be open and sincere as we explore this topic.
When you visit a doctor, they may check your heart, ask questions, and run tests. However, it is equally important to consider the state of your inner heart. Why? Because the emotional matters we carry affect many aspects of our lives.
I have noticed that some people choose to hide their hearts from others. It is as if they have built a solid wall around themselves. Others put on a facade, pretending all is well when, in truth, it isn’t. How do you respond when someone asks, How are you doing? Are you always honest?
Matters of the heart influence us in profound ways. The key is to acknowledge them and be truthful about how we feel. You may need to confide in someone you trust to share your heart. Most importantly, I encourage you to take your burdens to the Lord in prayer and leave them there. Journaling can also be a powerful tool, helping you process your thoughts and emotions as you write them down. Taking these moments of reflection can lead to peace and healing.
Perhaps you have struggled to express yourself because of past hurts. Moving beyond these experiences can bring a sense of freedom. When you choose honesty about your emotions, you open your heart to healing. One of the greatest steps you can take is to move past the pain and allow restoration to begin.

When you choose honesty about your emotions, you open your heart to healing.
Sometimes, understanding why you feel a certain way can be overwhelming. Yet, it is essential to recognize that you do not have to remain stuck in those emotions. There may be times when you need to leave relationships, jobs, or circumstances to find relief. However, before making those decisions, ensure that you have sought the Lord in prayer, made an effort to improve the situation, and allowed yourself to grow rather than become bitter.
Loss and loneliness are also significant matters of the heart that can be difficult to navigate. It is crucial to remember that we need one another, and seeking support when necessary is both wise and beneficial.
So, let me ask you again: How is your heart? Do you have matters that need attention? I encourage you to be honest and seek the support you need. Thank you for taking these moments with me.

Don’t let anyone or anything make you believe you are stuck.
There is always another way.
Keep pressing on and find it.
