Face It
Recently, I wrote about embracing change, and I’d like to share a little more on this topic. There are moments in life that cause us to stop in our tracks. Sometimes, what we fear the most is the very thing we must walk through to reach the next level. Let’s take a moment to reflect on what it means to face it.
Fear Can Delay Progress
How many times have you had to face something so difficult that you tried to delay it or find another way around it? Let’s be honest—fear can often keep us from moving forward. But the sooner we face what we’re avoiding, the better.
Putting things off doesn’t help in the long run. Eventually, we will have to confront the tough stuff. It takes perseverance to face and endure these moments, and that’s why it’s essential to consider: Who can I trust to walk through this with me?
Count the Cost and Seek Support
Taking stock of what you’re facing is wise. Surrounding yourself with trustworthy people you can confide in makes a huge difference. Taking moments in prayer can lead you to peace and clarity as you walk through challenging seasons.
Some of the hardest parts of facing things are the first steps forward. But it’s important to remember: it won’t always feel this way. Accepting certain realities—even painful ones—may be part of the process, but they’re necessary for healing and growth.
Don’t Let Fear or Overthinking Win
These times in life are never easy, but they are necessary if we want to keep growing and avoid becoming stagnant. Fear must not be your guide or your blindfold. Overthinking can cloud your judgment and paralyze you. Admit you may not know exactly how things will unfold, but keep going. Face it—even if you’re afraid.
Acknowledge the what-ifs and maybes. Know that mistakes may happen, but that doesn’t mean you should stop. Don’t let naysayers or seemingly impossible obstacles stop you in your tracks. I’ve found there’s always another way—it’s just up to us to find it.
Comfort Can Be a Trap
It’s strange how our most comfortable places can become the very things that hold us back. Facing hard things stretches us and pulls us toward the life we’re meant to live. Step out in faith and decide you’re willing to do what it takes to reach the other side.
I’ll be honest—facing hard things has been extremely difficult for me. But it has also been worth it. I’ve seen how I had to release control and trust that God had something better in store. People may question why you’re doing things differently or say things that cause doubt, but remember: You’re the one who has to walk through it—not them. If someone cannot walk with you, maybe they’re not meant to be on that part of the journey.
Face It With Determination
When you choose to face hard things, you’ll begin to see that there’s more to life than what you’re currently experiencing. Determination leads to a mindset of endurance. Struggles may come, but that doesn’t mean you give up. Sometimes, it just means it’s time to reevaluate and make adjustments as you continue moving forward.
Encouragement for the Journey
I hope this encourages you to face the things you’ve been avoiding. Please don’t keep putting them off—you could be holding back your own life. If needed, seek counseling, pray about what you’re facing, and surround yourself with sincere support.
Let’s Talk
How do you face hard times?
Have there been moments when you knew postponing something was impacting your life?
What adjustments do you need to make in order to face difficult things today?

Don’t let anyone or anything make you believe you are stuck.
There is always another way.
Keep pressing on and find it.
