I must admit I was really looking forward to attending the HerUniverse fashion show for the first ever at San Diego Comic-Con International. It was an honor and a blessing for me to experience. Let’s take a moment to discuss, “My Thoughts on HerUniverse Fashion Show 2023.“
Getting to attend the HerUniverse fashion show for the first time ever was so much fun. It meant so much to be able to attend and I felt humbled to be there. Everyone attending received a beautiful gift bag filled with a variety of Disney items; such as pins, belts, sunglasses, etc. Ashley Eckstein and Michael James Scott did such a great job. Ashley’s dress was incredible as it was literally film wrapped around her. The theme was Disney 100 and it was awesome to see various films projected on Ashley’s dress. Some included Disney Princesses, Toy Story, Star Wars, Marvel and more. Getting to see the various designs Michael James wore in collaboration with the theme was enjoyable too. I loved hearing him sing. He was a lot of fun.
Each designer in the fashion show was very unique. It was wonderful to hear their stories and how they chose what they would design. You definitely saw their passion in their designs. It was so enjoyable that each design was rare and uniquely made from a Disney character/movie. I was so happy to see my 2 favorite fashions “Totally Minnie” by Rachel Petterson and “Mistress of Elements X-Men” by Raeven K. win.

I honestly would love to have the opportunity to attend again next year. This is definitely an experience you would enjoy when attending San Diego Comic-Con International. In high school, I attended a school of fashion in New York, so this bought back lots of memories and precious moments for me.
