There is something so freeing when we make the choice to “Let Go.” As I reflected earlier this year, I recalled that we each can decide to make some important changes that will impact us as we choose to let go. Let’s take a moment to discuss, “Why Letting Go Helps Us.”
Sometimes the hardest thing/s that needs change can be the best decision that we make. We each can be guilty at times of holding on too tightly to something/someone. We can’t see ourselves outside of each other. But there must come a moment of reflection when you see how these people/places/things may have been impacting you negatively. These are vital moments in life.
We may have made excuses for how we feel about these things however, in order to grow and do better, we must come to a major decision of “release.” I remember when I began to feel these moments of nudges from God that I needed to break away from specific people/places, and things. Each was not benefiting me, but rather taking from me and draining me. I was not growing but rather feeling frustrated, sad, angry more than encouraged.
It was not until I chose to leave each of these that I instantly felt freedom. There was a sense of release and relief that I did not see while I was amid these things and people. My intention was to stay faithful to where I was and committed to what I felt called to do. But I learned an important hard life lesson that I was, unfortunately, being taken advantage of by these people and places. Sadly, this not only impacted me negatively but my family too. It was important to let go and set boundaries.
It took a while for healing and forgiveness as I admitted to staying too long in a negative environment. We must admit this in order to grow and move forward in a true sense of release. It’s important to learn these life lessons and remain prayerful and vigilant in not doing the same mistakes. This is why I believe letting go helps us.
I would love to hear what you had to let go of and how it has helped you. Are you having trouble letting go? Share your stories and let’s continue to bring encouragement to others. Thank you so much for taking moments with me.

Letting go was the hardest thing I had to do, still it. But looking back now, it was the best gift I could ever give myself.

This post hits close to home but in a good way. Once we have made the decision to let go it can still feel bad, until it doesn’t! Letting go really can be one of the best things we can do for ourselves and our future!
