I must admit I was completely honored that Headphonesthoughts invited me to collaborate with her to attend WonderCon 2024 with press passes. Unfortunately, I could not make WonderCon due to some conflicts in my schedule. However, I am glad to have connected with publicist and their companies that attended WonderCon this year and would like to highlight some events that occurred this past weekend at the conference. Let’s take a moment to discuss more.
Comic conventions are always lots of fun and I greatly enjoy getting to include many things that are exclusive to those in attendance. Some things include panels that have insights of upcoming events, announcements, some producers, film makers, actors, etc. who participated in projects; discussions and so much more. You experience behind the scene how to’s, art, film, costumes, and more. The show room floor will usually have lots to explore as well. Needless to say, I missed attending WonderCon 2024 this year.
There are a few projects that companies invited both HeadphonesThoughts and myself to attend as part of the press and share some recaps with each of you.
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS – “Subspace Rhapsody” Sing-Along at WonderCon 2024

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY – Final Season Premiere Screening at WonderCon
Star Trek was very present at WonderCon with Paramount+ and CBS Studios hosting a Sing-Along for the first time. Included was a screening of the “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” musical episode, “Subspace Rhapsody.” There was also a moderated Q&A with songwriters Tom Polce and Kay Hanley, also of Letters to Cleo fame; discussing writing the songs for Star Trek’s first ever musical episode.
On Saturday, fans were thrilled to get to see an advance screening of the premiere episode of the final season of “Star Trek: Discovery.” A moderated Q & A followed afterwards with Michelle Paradise (EP/Co-Showrunner) and Olatunde Osunsanmi (EP/Director) discussed working on the exciting final season and teasing what’s to come in the upcoming episodes. Elias Toufexis (L’ak), newest cast member of “Star Trek: Discovery” season 5, gave the fans a big surprise by appearing in the audience at the screening.
HASBRO revealed some products at WONDERCON 2024 this year.
- The Hasbro TRANSFORMERS team shared new figures. These included BUMBLEBEE 111 CONCEPT ART SUNSTREAKER and WAR FOR CYBERTRON 07 SIDESWIPE, BUMBLEBEE 110 SHOCKWAVE, and THE MOVIE 86 – 26 DINOBOT SWOOP.
- The Hasbro G.I. JOE team disclosed a new line-up of Classified Series figures, including COBRA FERRET SCOUT & COBRA FERRET ATV, RETRO CARDBACK SNOW SERPENT,RETRO CARDBACK COBRA EEL, and RETRO CARDBACK BEACH HEAD.
- The Hasbro Star Wars team today uncoverd a galaxy full of new products including Star Wars: the Vintage Collection Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal), and Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios. These were inspired by their appearance in Star Wars: Rebels, in addition to The Black Series Momaw Nadon as seen during the iconic Mos Eisley Cantina sequence in Star Wars: A New Hope.
- The Hasbro Marvel team showcased Tony Stark’s extensive armory with the reveal of Marvel Legends Series Iron Man (Model 01 – Gold), Iron Man (Model 20), and Iron Man (Model 09), in addition to friends and foes such as She-Hulk, Marvel’s Whiplash, and Count Nefaria.
