There is so much that can be said about the word, “Mom” and so much that should be appreciated. She carries so much weight in a home and is a vital part of the family. She displays strength and encouragement. She relays an ability of tenacity to endure in life and to keep going even when others would quit. Let’s take a moment to discuss, “To be a mom should not be taken lightly.”
Not all “moms’ are this way though. Some have not taken this responsibility as diligently as they needed to. As a result, there are things she might deal with in the future with her child/ren. Whether there is one child or more, a ‘mom’ must understand the magnitude of having a life to be responsible for. It is important that a ‘mom’ understands that it is not only about ‘you’ any longer, but the live/s of those God has entrusted to you.
Words cannot express how incredibly thankful I am for my ‘mom.’ I am also so tremendously blessed to be a ‘mom’ of 3 children. A ‘mom’ may not be fully prepared as much as she can go to classes and talk with other mothers. It simply is not until you become a mother yourself that you understand the large responsibility it requires. It is more than just a title, it is a life decision.
Having my mother has taught me that you take care of your family and deny yourself often. You make sacrifices constantly and become aware that in the end, it is always well worth it. I have made mistakes along the way and do not make excuses for them. I see them as true lessons in life as I continue on in learning as a ‘mom.’ As a ‘mom,’ you must understand there are adjustments to every stage of life and you must pivot along the way to maintain healthy relationships. I see children as a true gift given to me and I have decided from the day I became a mother that I will NOT take it for granted nor would I take it lightly. I completely honor my mother and give thanks for my 3 children.
I would love to hear from you and hear about your mother too. I also welcome those who are moms to share a comment. There is so much more that can be said regarding not taking lightly becoming a ‘mom.’ Let’s take a moment to examine this together and encourage one another.

What a blessing it is to be a mother and watching my children grow into adults has left me at times speechless. I continue to lift my children up to the Lord in prayer trusting that Jesus can guide them, protect them and show them His perfect will. I’m encouraged by pastor Natalie’s reminder of the gift of mothering.
Thank you so much for taking moments with to read and share your comments. As mothers it is vital to learn the important lessons with each stage of parenting we find ourselves. Praise God that we get to see His plans unfold in our children’s lives.
I love being a mom and feel grateful & blessed to be one. After several miscarriages and an adoption that didn’t go through, it’s not something I take lightly. In addition, I am happy my own mom is in good health. We’re planning a trip together. The time we can spend with our moms and our children is finite. It’s one reason I have been motivated to catch up retirement savings after a late start – to be able to spend more time with family.
I sincerely appreciate you sharing about your mom and family. Making strides to do better and spend more time together is do wonderful. Thank you for taking moments with me. 😊
