SOME THINGS I MUST ACCEPT

SOME THINGS I MUST ACCEPT

I find myself yet again preparing for another upcoming birthday in the month of June and I usually pause and take in where I am currently in life during these moments. I believe it’s really important to be honest with yourself so you can improve where you must and accept certain things that have occurred over the course of your life. Let’s take a moment together to discuss, “Some Things I Must Accept.”

I like to talk about these things because I believe like me, there are others who also take moments where they recognize I can do better and there are things I must accept that have occurred. I believe it’s necessary to acknowledge these moments without allowing yourself to become negative or downcast if you have not yet met certain goals or expectations. Sometimes we can be hard on ourselves, and I think this won’t help us in doing better. We must pay attention to evaluating overall.

Although, we might have ‘missed the mark’ on certain things, places, goals, etc.; it’s important to not remain in what has not yet happened but what I still can accomplish. Ask yourself, what have I not been able to attain and how can I do things differently? What did I allow to set me off course from my goals? Did I make excuses that delayed me from accomplishing these goals?

Obviously, life happens. There are things outside of our control and unexpected changes in life events that can impact us overall. But what I like to reflect on is where can I do better.

Obviously, life happens. There are things outside of our control and unexpected changes in life events that can impact us overall. But what I like to reflect on is where can I do better. We must decide not to allow ourselves to overthink on matters but rather learn from our choices and recognize what we must accept that I can not honestly change. Grow where you are and continue in this journey, we call life. Accept challenges, overcome obstacles, do things differently to get better results, and learn from your mistakes.

Accepting what you cannot change does not mean you make excuses for them either. You acknowledge what has happened and see how it has impacted you overall. I think it is vital in accepting things that you see where you make room for growth while also deleting things from your life that are causing blockages. We can make excuses but for so long before we begin to see the results of our delay in making changes that are necessary in life.

I also believe forgiveness is crucial to grow in life. When you accept what you cannot change you also must learn to forgive yourself and others. Do not allow the wrong/s to stop you from your purpose and destiny here on earth. I believe God has great plans and it is important that we do not allow any root of unforgiveness or bitterness to take place. These can impact you mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically so do yourself a favor and forgive. I KNOW it is NOT always easy, but it is necessary for your peace and freedom. This never means it’s ok what has occurred, but it is a decision that helps you to be released from the constant reminders of what has happened when you forgive. It is a release. Ask God to help you in this and get help/counsel to walk out your journey of forgiveness.

These are some things I must accept. I consider the important part of each of these as I prepare to celebrate another birthday. Learning from mistakes helps you to grow and releasing yourself from regret and unforgiveness brings healing and freedom.

Tell me what have you learned to accept in your life? Thank you for being a part of this writing journey with me. Thank you for taking moments with me. Let me know where you find you still need to grow and how you can do better. Remember the importance of forgiveness as well. I would like to write more on this topic in the future. I look forward to hearing from you. Share your stories and bring encouragement to others with me.

Don’t let anyone or anything make you believe you are stuck. There is always another way.
Keep pressing on and find it.
