I like to take time each year to reflect on a few things. In my time of reflection, I will include goals, accomplishments, and things still desirous of doing. Let’s take a moment to discuss, “Reflection.”
I believe taking a moment to evaluate where you are will help you in deciding to be purposeful in moving forward. Honesty is genuinely important as you reflect on things. Admit to where you wanted to be and the things you wanted to get done. This helps in knowing what you still need to accomplish and determining what new things you may need to include for your next set of goals.
For me, reflection is a constant part of life. I like to include reflecting several times throughout the year, and at times depending on the goal it can be daily, weekly, or monthly. This is not to overwhelm me but to maintain an honest ability to see how I am doing while attempting to complete certain goals.
I genuinely believe that the end of one year and preparing for the next is a great time to reflect. Take some time to see how many things you have been able to accomplish and decide where you need to adjust. Have you learned from past decisions and recognize to not redo the same things that did not work before?
This past year, I purposed to do more, and this included connecting with more writers and incorporating more collaborations. Some things that I felt really honored to be a part of included interviews on Orlando Voyager and CanvasRebel, and a personal short true story on TeaGal emagazine. I also enjoyed some fun collaborations, especially during the holiday season. I loved getting to share along with some other writers, “Three of my favorite things during the holidays” and sincerely appreciated so much more throughout the year on my writing journey.
Some other goals accomplished included beginning a Medium account and I hope to try to do more if possible in this new year. Excited to continue to meet new writers and work on more collaborations. I also look forward to continuing to work on my book and writing more book review blogs as I have before for a wonderful author. My hope is to get paid for writing for others and on my blog as well. I will continue to update my blog and hope to make some wonderful changes over this next year.
Now tell me do you take moments of reflection? Do you evaluate yourself throughout the year and/or do you only wait until the new year? Is reflection important to you? What have you learned whenever you take time to reflect? There is so much we can accomplish with goal setting and taking time to reflect as well.
Looking forward to this new year and wishing each of you great success. Thank you for remaining on this writing journey with me. I sincerely appreciate you taking moments with me. Let’s continue together. Share your story and let’s encourage others together.
