A good question to ask ourselves, “What matters most?” Each of us can honestly answer this differently. Some may want fame and fortune. Some may answer a family with a house and car. But I want to take a moment with you to consider this question differently, what really matters most?
Although, fame and fortune are great to acquire they are not always what can give you a complete sense of accomplishment alone. These can quickly be taken. We have seen this over history where there have been financial crisis, housing collapse and even the toll of war on our society. We must learn to be content whether we have gained these things or have lost some. As difficult as this is, it teaches us to appreciate what matters most.
On the other hand, acquiring a home and car are great accomplishments too. To have a family is amazing and a true gift. The key to sincerely appreciate these is to recognize life is more than the things you have but the people who are in your life through it all. God entrusts us as we gain these things and He is our “constant” throughout. He is faithful throughout our lives and brings us through various life seasons. So to be honest, it is vital to recognize God is what matters most in your life whether you have much or little.
How about taking time to pay attention to where you are in life and what you have seen as consistent. Be honest about what is the most important thing to you. You will find the constant through it all is God Himself and He is the most important in life. Let me hear from you. Share your experiences. Your stories bring encouragement to others. Thank you for taking moments with me.
