There is something about considering a new season and when we find ourselves facing new things. I think we might believe we are ready for new, but when the time comes will we honestly be prepared for it? Let’s take a moment to discuss, “Out with the old and in with the new.”
In order to be prepared for the new, we must decide we will also get rid of the old. What I am considering here is whether this means getting rid of some of old patterns, old mindsets, old ways, etc. in general. It is important to make room for the new in order to not mishandle it. If we choose not to release the old, we really are not prepared for the new. It is like going up a flight of stairs. You will not get to the top unless and until you make steps up one at a time in order to go higher.
Learning from the past is such a vital part of our lives. Sometimes, we could believe we are ready for the new things and yet we are still living in the past moments. Without acknowledging these moments, we may then try to walk in the new with these old patterns, old mindsets, old mistakes, hurts, etc. and end up with the same results we hoped would not take place.
Out with the old and in with the new, means just that. Get rid of these things. It is not healthy and neither is it beneficial to us. How do we embrace the new, unless we decide to release these old things? It may mean getting counsel or guidance or even professional help from others in order to learn how to implement new mindsets, patterns and heal from deep wounds. Something that I honestly make sure I do very often is taking quiet moments in prayer and acknowledging where I need to change, choose to forgive myself and others and release the things that are impacting my life in a negative way.
Learning from these old ways establishes a healthy way to embrace the new. Although, it can be difficult but it is not impossible to enjoy the new when you are dealing with the old. The sooner you work through the old, the better you can handle and appreciate the new. This is a continuous process, I know because I am also still walking through things that will bring me toward a better and healthier way of living that I can incorporate daily. Life is about constant learning and acknowledging necessary changes that must take place very often. You will find that your perspective will change too.
I would love to hear your thoughts. Have you experienced moments when you had to deal with old patterns, old mindsets, and old ways in general? Have you longed for a new season, but find it difficult to get all those old ways out. It is so important to be honest with yourself about these things. I would also love to hear some of the new things you are embracing. Share your story and be encouragement to others with me. Thank you for taking moments with me.
Don’t let anyone or anything make you believe you are stuck.
There is always another way. Keep pressing on and find it.

Good advice! Getting rid of old habits can be hard sometimes but it’s necessary to move forward.
It is definitely necessary to learn how to get rid of the old in order to move forward. I appreciate you reading and sharing your thoughts.
This is such an inspiring post! I definitely need to remember that in order to stay a new season or to change my life I need to replace old habits with new ones. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Kelly for reading and sharing your thoughts. Some habits may be difficult to break but it is possible.
Doing a declutter once in a while, whether physically or mentally, is a must! Sometimes you just have to stop and find the things that really matter in life and let go of the ones that don’t! The only way we cam grow and move forward is to “out with the old and in with the new’. Life changes, we change, so we have to adapt, adjust and move forward.
Sincerely appreciate you taking moments with me and sharing your thoughts on this important topic. Yes, decluttering must become a must physically and/or mentally to walk in the changes and the new places.
This is a great take! Thank you for sharing! So helpful
Thank you Maria for reading and sharing your thoughts.

I definitely feel the need to let go of some of the old and should spend some time reviewing this. I think there comes a point where things begin to weigh us down and we need to release ourselves from that burden. Great post!
I sincerely appreciate your thoughts on this topic. Yes, some old things can feel like a burden and the need to let go of these old things is a constant part of life I believe. There is a sense of freedom and release when we allow ourselves to let go of these old things.Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts.
‘Learning from the past is such a vital part of our lives’. This statement really hit me. Thank you for this post 🙂
Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts Khushi. Life has many lessons that we can learn from.
Thanks for sharing! I just wrote a post about identifying our core beliefs in order to change our thoughts and ultimately our behaviour. It’s not easy, as often we are not even aware of our beliefs, mostly of which were formed in our childhood. So in order to let go we need to go deep, deep down…
Thank you Katy for reading and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your blog and your thoughts on this topic too.
Every year I feel like I let go of old patterns and habits that no longer serve me. It’s so deliberating, but definitely not easy. For this year, I want to let go of some self-limiting beliefs about my self-worth, the concept of success, and my beliefs around money.
Thank you Giada for sharing some of your thoughts of what you would like to let go of this year. It is amazing that it is not until we realize that there are self-limiting beliefs on specific things that then we can implement some intentional changes. Would love to hear more about how this goes for you this year. I will write another post and welcome you to share too on it.
