There are times in our lives that we find ourselves in circumstances that can be overwhelming. We can feel like there is no room for anything else. Then all of sudden, you find yourself doing what you thought you could not and wonder how am I able to accomplish this. Let’s take a moment to look at this together as we discuss, “S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g.”
It is difficult but there is always room for growth. When we consider having an opportunity to do more, it is best to weigh all options. Also, contemplate whether this is something that can be included in your life. Fact is, many times when we say, “I can’t;” God is prompting us; “Yes you can and I will help you.” Maybe you are like me; you really do not like that overwhelming feeling of too much all at the same time. Perhaps you are that person that thrives on that level of stress. Either way, potential and ability are walking hand in hand when you are being stretched.
It is with potential that we gain an inner strength to do what we thought we could not on our own. God supernaturally provides a strength to believers to do more than they thought possible. Even so, the doing comes with determination, persistence and dependence on God to bring you through it. When you do so in this manner you remain in peace no matter how overwhelmed you feel. So it is vital that we take time to pray and keep God in the mist of all of the stretching going on.
You may believe that you are not capable, but honestly, it is amazing what one can do when they have decided to remain focused, purposed and determined to finish what they start. Do not allow yourself to be sidetracked during these times because this will only delay all of the stretching going on. Recognize what is most important and complete one task at a time. Remember to acknowledge that if God has allowed you to be bought to it; then HE will bring you through it. Otherwise, recognize when you may have bought any of these things on yourself. It is just wise to constantly evaluate where you are in order to determine how to move forward.
Doing the right thing comes from a heart that desires to do so. In this you, will surely succeed and gain so much through all of the stretching. There is always room to grow and something that can be learned along the way. Feeling stretched is only one part of pushing yourself further than you thought you ever could go. Growth spurts should be a constant for each of us no matter our age. We can always grow with learning along the way. Lessons in life are meant to grow us up. Learning to not make the same mistakes is a place of maturity. Acknowledging where you can do more, shows a capability that not everyone has. Keep in mind, we may have others watching our example in our life responses and so we are leading by example as we S-T-R-E-T-C-H.
Share with me how you believe you have been stretching. Especially with the times we find ourselves in. Several adjustments and constant changes affected our stretching in a variety of ways. I believe as we consider these things we will be encouraged by how far we have come through each moment of stretching. Your stories will inspire others. Let’s continue to take moments together.
