Have you recognized there are things that seem to come up before you more than once? It is in these moments that I believe God is highlighting something He wants to work on in our life. It is up to us to recognize when these things are happening? You see God wants to work these things out for our good. Let’s take a moment to discuss, “When Something Gets Highlighted.”
Each of us, if we were honest, can admit we have had something more than once seem to rise up that we have to deal with. It is good to pay attention to these times, so we can work on them properly. It is never good to avoid an issue or disregard it as nothing. If it continues to come up, it is best to deal with appropriately.
I can remember so many different moments when I had to deal with specific things that were highlighted in my life and honestly they were not always easy. Whether it means moving on from a relationship, leaving a job, relocating, bad habits, whatever it was, I had to deal with it head on so that I could move on in life and not be held back by the issue at hand. There is this part of us that may not want to confront, but the faster we do, the healthier it is for us.
We can be swayed by our own emotions and overthinking in these moments, so we must make sure we guard our hearts. Take a few moments to admit where you may have avoided an issue to try to maintain what you felt was peace but really it wasn’t. You see, in doing this you are losing your peace. Confrontation is not always easy, but it is such an important part of our lives. How about considering what you can confront without argument or overthinking even now?
There are so many examples I can give when I had to confront or deal with an issue that kept being highlighted and it was the best thing I did. I can honestly admit I did want to at the time and I may not have liked it when doing it but my goodness, afterwards, it bought so much peace back into my life. I have to admit there have been some things I may have taken too long to confront and it made it harder but it made it even more necessary to do. So remember if God is highlighting things it is for our good.
If you are needing to deal with something being highlighted in your life, I invite you to first go to God in prayer. Admit you need Him, ask Him for forgiveness and for His leadership in these things. Confronting highlighted issues with God’s help with being lead to the right timing and heart when doing so. Keep in mind, no matter how hard you may try to avoid hurting someone, sometimes when confronting issues honestly, someone may not want to receive what you are saying no matter how kind your words are. Keep your heart right each step of the way and be prepared to walk away from people, places and things to maintain peace.
I would love to hear from you. Please share what things continue to be highlighted in your life and you know you have to confront them. Be honest as your stories will encourage others. Most importantly remember to go to God with each of these things in order to keep your heart right and walk out each of these things in true peace. Don’t allow anything to take your peace (the peace that God alone gives). Let’s continue to take moments together.
