Why is prayer important?

Praying for one another is a gift. When you genuinely decide to stand in the gap in prayer for someone you are actually giving them an incredible priceless gift. You see there are just those moments when you are facing things so intense that knowing someone is willing to pray with you and for you about it means more than can be expressed. Let’s take a moment to look more at, ‘The importance of prayer.’

When you are sensitive to the needs of someone else, you will then recognize when someone is facing things that they need God Himself to bring them through. Whether it seems like an impossible situation or severe hardship, etc. taking time to be there for the person/people makes a huge difference. Expressing that you are sincerely praying demonstrates your care and genuine love for the individual/individuals.

An important aspect to praying is that you are truthfully bringing these requests before the Lord in sincere faith. Any time that you honestly take these things before the Lord in prayer will leave a large impact. It is not just saying you are praying, but taking a moment to sincerely cry out to God by faith with the person/s. Please understand it can seem meaningless if you say this and you really don’t take time to pray for these needs. It’s amazing when you speak from a sincere heart and take these things to God in prayer. You will be influenced even in the way you are praying.

Discussing your needs and letting it be made known about what you are facing to others leaves you with a sense of trust and hope when you know they will stand in prayer with you. Knowing you are not fighting alone encourages you to keep going no matter what the situation. To cast our cares to God in prayer takes faith but to know someone is willing to do so with you builds strength, support and hope.

Let me know how you were impacted by someone else praying for you. Also, let me know when you were able to be that person willing to stand in the gap in prayer with and for someone. Taking it all to the Lord in prayer is important, leaving it in His hands is freedom. Let’s be an encouragement one to another by helping one another with our burdens through prayer.
