Having peace can be trying at times. We each may want peace, but to have peace and keep it takes work on our part. There are so many things that may seem outside of our control, but we can take charge of maintaining our peace. Take a moment with me as we discuss, “Maintaining Peace.”
Perhaps you have faced something so trying that you felt as though you could not have peace in the mist of it all. I can honestly say, I have been there. Experiencing very trying moments can be so overwhelming that you may feel there is no way to escape it. I honestly have to say that peace has been maintained because of taking time with God in prayer. I have faced loss, disappointment, sickness, pain etc. and it was very overwhelming while walking through each, I can say with a pure heart that God granted me a peace that passes a natural understanding that bought me through it.
Sometimes, you may be the person in the middle of what others are going through and perhaps you would be the one to be a peacemaker. You have an ability to not take sides but discern the facts on both sides and your perspective brings an entirely different viewpoint. As you get to hear both sides, you bring encouragement. You understand the importance of not gossiping about it but tell both parties that you are NOT taking sides as you do not like to be put in the middle. However, if you can bring peace by being a peacemaker, then you should do so gladly.
There are moments when you may find yourself walking into chaos that you did not choose. However, you see the entire atmosphere change as you walk in peace. Truth is that these chaotic situations can impact us if we do not guard our hearts and minds. So, it’s important to protect your peace and choose the battles you really want to be a part of.
I have found that obtaining true peace comes from God. There is really nothing else like it. He gives a sustaining peace that comes in knowing Him. I have experienced times without this and say can say these things from personal experiences. I wanted to share this as an encouragement to you as well. We are living in very trying times and it will take a lot of faith, trust and knowing God’s peace to walk through each of these moments.
These are just a few examples when it comes to having and maintaining peace. I would love to hear how you have maintained peace. Have you experienced being a peacemaker? Is maintaining peace difficult for you? Are you someone who brings peace everywhere you go? Sharing your story will impact others.
Thank you for taking moments with me. To be able to walk in peace is possible. Maintaining peace will take work. Let me hear from you.
